Shake A Leg Petcare is a professional pet care business established in 2005 by animal lover, Cara, and now serves Georgina, ON and surrounding areas. Our services include doggie daycare and boarding, dog walking, pet sitting visits, puppy visits, and other types of overnight care. Our Philosophy
Shake A Leg Petcare is all about safety, honesty, and fun! The safety of your pet is always our number one priority, no matter what the situation. For this reason, we do not take dogs off-leash, unless in an off-leash designated park, and with permission from the owners. We are always attentive to your dog's behaviour and health, and will let you know if something doesn't seem right.
Another cornerstone of Shake A Leg Petcare is honesty with our clients. We may find that a service we are providing isn't the right fit for your pet. If this occurs, we will inform you right away and work with you to find a solution that better suits your needs. Whatever service of ours your pet is using, we want them to be enjoying themselves!
Last but not least, we want your pets to have fun with us. We walk, feed, play fetch, cuddle -- whatever your pet needs to be happy! We can never take your place in your pet's eyes, but we can help them have fun when you can't be there.

About the Owner
"My name is Cara and I am the founder and owner of Shake A Leg Petcare. I always knew that I wanted to work with animals, while growing up with an extensive array of pets including gerbils, rabbits, ducklings, cats, dogs, and horses. In my younger years I competed on the Trillium Show Circuit with my horse April, while also beginning my career with animals by working in the stable. After a number of years working in the pet care industry and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, I decided to follow my dream of having my own company. In 2005, I established Shake A Leg Petcare by offering live-in overnight care, adding dog walking and petsitting visits beginning in 2007. Home Style Boarding was added a few years later. I also strive to remain active in the animal community by volunteering with various animal rescues and in wildlife rehabilitation.
My goal for this company has always been to provide the best experience I can for the pets in our care, whether it's petsitting, boarding, daycare, or walking! For so many people, pets are part of the family, and they become part of our family as well. I'm always willing to go out of my way to make sure they're happy. That may mean something different for every dog or cat. Sometimes older or high anxiety dogs end up in the house with us, and sometimes I spend extra time cuddling or playing with others. I have been known to crawl through the dog doors with some of the dogs (which they seem to love), sit with some dogs while they eat. Whatever it is your pet needs, I am happy to help!"
